When you create a new user-defined comparison group, you are taken to the Edit Comparison Group Definition screen in CGG. This is where you specify which assessment records in your Q-global database should be used to define a set of norm group statistics.
The Edit Comparison Group Definition Screen contains two views, an Available Records view and a Comparison Group view. The Available Records view displays all assessment records in your Q-global database which:
Match the gender designation of your comparison group (e.g., if you are defining a female comparison group, only records from female examinees will be displayed).
Have not been archived in Q-global.
Are in a Ready for Reporting state.
Have been reported on.
The Comparison Group view displays all assessment records you have selected to be included in the comparison group. To define the comparison group, select one or more records from the list of Available Records and MOVE TO Comparison Group. To remove records from the Comparison Group, select one or more records and MOVE TO Available Records.
To submit the comparison group for validation, click Create Group. To save and continue later click Save.

When you submit a comparison group for validation, Q-global checks to ensure that a minimum of 200 records have been selected, there is a gender balance for combined-gender comparison groups, and all records contain valid scores. This process can take several minutes.
If one or more validity requirements are not satisfied, the system will notify you. You will be required to fulfill the requirements before your comparison group can be created.
If the minimum records requirement is not satisfied, the system will prompt you to add more records to satisfy the requirement.
If a gender imbalance occurs and the number of male and female records is not equal, the system will randomly select records from the gender with the most records to remove.
If score requirements are not satisfied, the system will prompt you to remove those records from your list of defining records.
When all validity requirements are met, your comparison group statistics will be generated.
The list of available records on the ‘Edit Comparison Group Definition’ dialog can be filtered to find one or more assessment records.
