Entering WISC-V Spanish Scores

The WISC®-V Spanish provides a culturally and linguistically valid test of cognitive ability in Spanish for use with Spanish-speaking children ages 6 years 0 months through 16 years 11 months (6:016:11). Adapted from the proven and reliable WISC-V, the WISC-V Spanish brings you more flexibility and content than ever before. Test items have been validated to minimize cultural bias across multiple regions of origin, and modified when needed. While the WISC-V Spanish is given in Spanish, children earn credit for correct answers in either Spanish or English.

The WISC-V Spanish is manual entry only and has two tabs: Demographics and Raw Scores.

Demographics tab

Field Name

Description

Race/Ethnicity The examinee's race/ethnicity.

Handedness

The examinee's handedness (preference for the use of the left or right hand).

Primary Language

Current Grade (if summer, enter upcoming grade) The grade level of the examinee at the time of the assessment administration.

If checked, this denotes that the examinee has taken this test at least once before. If a WISC-V Spanish assessment already exists for this examinee, while opening an existing assessment, the previously entered values are displayed. Leave unchecked if this is the first time this examinee is being tested. The software will automatically check the "Is this a Retest?" checkbox if there is a previous assessment of this type for this examinee.

Comments

Allows the examiner to provide additional comments.

Optional Language Questionnaire

There are 11 questions in the Optional Language Questionnaire.
If completed, adjusted scores are calculated using equations that adjust verbal scores based on the demographic responses.

Raw Scores tab

Use the WISC-V Spanish Administration and Scoring Manual to score subtest items and obtain the total raw score for each subtest. For Digit Span, enter the scores for DSf, DSb, and DSs and the total raw score will be calculated automatically. ‘Blank’ is not a valid value for scoring purposes. A zero should be entered to trigger a calculated score for unfilled fields.
