Entering BBCS-4:R Scores

The Bracken Basic Concept Scale (4th ed.): Receptive™ (BBCS-4:R™) is an individually administered test that measures children’s comprehension of linguistic concepts. The test is designed for children ages 3:0–7:11. The BBCS-4:R consists of 10 subtests: Colors, Letters, Numbers/Counting, Sizes/Comparisons, Shapes, Self-/Social Awareness, Direction/Position, Texture/Material, Quantity, and Time/Sequence. The first six subtests assess relevant concepts children traditionally need to know in order to be prepared for early formal education. These subtests comprise the BBCS-4:R’s companion product, the Bracken School Readiness Assessment (4th ed.) (BSRA-4). Results obtained from the BBCS-4:R and BSRA-4 guide clinicians, teachers, and parents/caregivers in developing strategies for teaching young children vital concepts that enable them to be successful in school. This is the first offering of the BBCS-4:R scoring and reporting on Q-global®.

The BBCS-4:R on Q-global includes Manual Entry with an Overview tab and a Subtests tab. The Overview tab includes entry of administration settings and assessment demographics. The Subtests tab allows for subtest-level raw score or item score entry.

Refer to the BBCS-4:R Manual for additional administration and scoring details.
