Entering Bayley-4 Social-Emotional and Adaptive Behavior Scales Scores

For the Bayley-4 Social-Emotional and Adaptive Behavior Scales, there is an Overview tab, and a Subtests tab where examinee item scores or the subtest/subdomain raw score(s) may be entered.

Overview Tab

Assessment Demographics
Field Name	Description
Parent/Caregiver Name	The name of the parent/caregiver.
Relationship to Child	The parent/caregiver relationship to the child. Choose from the following options in the drop-down list. Mother Father Grandmother Grandfather Sister Brother Aunt Uncle Relative not listed Nanny/Babysitter (not a relative) Other If 'Other' is selected, a text box is displayed for the entry of the Relationship to Child value.
Reason for Referral	The reason the child was referred for testing.
Adjustment for Prematurity	Required. Indicate whether the child’s age should be adjusted for prematurity. If 'Yes' is selected, the child’s expected birth date must be entered and adjusted test age will be used to determine the subtest start points and to score the test.
Expected Birth Date Sections to include with this assessment (must select at least one)	This field appears and is required if 'Yes' is selected for the Adjustment for Prematurity field. The expected birth date is the date the child was originally expected to be born. The expected birth date should be later than the child’s chronological date of birth. Required for On-Screen Administration (OSA) or Remote On-Screen Administration (ROSA) only. If administering via OSA or ROSA, select the sections to include with the administration. You may select one or both of the following options: Social-Emotional Scale: Part 1 Adaptive Behavior Scale: Part 2

Subtests Tab

The Bayley-4 allows raw score entry or item score entry. For each subtest, enter either the subtest/subdomain raw score and associated fields OR enter item scores.

Social-Emotional	Enter Sensory Processing Total Raw Score, Social-Emotional Total Raw Score, Total Can’t tell items, Total administered items, and Highest Stage Mastered or subtest item scores for the Social-Emotional subtest.
Adaptive Behavior Scale
Receptive	Enter Total Raw Score, Total Estimated items, and Total administered items or item scores for the Receptive subdomain.
Expressive	Enter Total Raw Score, Total Estimated items, and Total administered items or item scores for the Expressive subdomain.
Personal	Enter Total Raw Score, Total Estimated items, and Total administered items or item scores for the Personal subdomain.
Interpersonal Relationships	Enter Total Raw Score, Total Estimated items, and Total administered items or item scores for the Interpersonal Relationships subdomain.
Play and Leisure	Enter Total Raw Score, Total Estimated items, and Total administered items or item scores for the Play and Leisure subdomain.

Raw Score Entry

To perform raw score entry, enter all the indicated raw score values for the administered subtest/subdomain(s).

The values entered must meet the following data entry rules:

Social-Emotional Total Raw Score cannot be greater than 5 times the Total administered items
Receptive Total Raw Score cannot be greater than 2 times the Total administered items
Expressive Total Raw Score cannot be greater than 2 times the Total administered items
Personal Total Raw Score cannot be greater than 2 times the Total administered items
Interpersonal Relationships Total Raw Score cannot be greater than 2 times the Total administered items
Play and Leisure Total Raw Score cannot be greater than 2 times the Total administered items

Social-Emotional Total Can't tell items cannot be greater than Total administered items
Receptive Total Estimated items cannot be greater than Total administered items
Expressive Total Estimated items cannot be greater than Total administered items
Personal Total Estimated items cannot be greater than Total administered items
Interpersonal Relationships Total Estimated items cannot be greater than Total administered items
Play and Leisure Total Estimated items cannot be greater than Total administered items

Item Score Entry

To perform item score entry, click the item entry toggle to switch to item entry mode. Enter item scores in the single-character auto-advance item entry boxes.

When performing item score entry, enter the score for each administered item. If item scores are entered, the system calculates the raw score and the raw score will appear in the report, but not on the Subtests tab on the Assessment Details page.

A score must be filled in for all items starting with item one (1) up to the discontinue point for each administered subtest/subdomain. The subtest/subdomain is considered unscorable until this condition is met.

Command Buttons

If you click the Back link without saving the record, you will see a message confirming the navigation and asking whether you would like to stay on the page.
Clicking Save updates saves the record.
When data entry is complete, you can click Proceed to Reports to save the record and generate a report.
When the record is saved, thesystem checks to ensure all the required data have been entered. If information needed for scoring is missing or invalid, error messages and/or warnings will be displayed in the Overview tab. The Overview tab will be marked with a red flag when errors or warnings are present. The record will be saved with a status of “Needs Editing” when errors or warnings are present. Once the error condition is corrected, the error message and flag will be removed the next time the record is saved.

On-Screen Administration/Remote On-Screen Administration

When administering the Social-Emotional and Adaptive Behavior form through On-Screen Administration (OSA), you must set the Adjustment for Prematurity selection and select the Sections to include with this assessment. You have the option to administer only the Social-Emotional subtest or the Adaptive Behavior subdomains or both.
