Entering CELF-5 Scores

The CELF®-5 is an individually-administered clinical tool for the identification, diagnosis, and follow-up evaluation of language and communication disorders in students ages 5–21 years.

 

For CELF-5, there is an Overview tab, a Subtests tab, and an Observational Rating Scales tab.

 

Overview Tab

The Overview tab includes Administration Settings, Assessment Demographics, and Behavioral Observations.

Assessment Demographics

Field Name

Description

Grade The examinee’s grade.
School The examinee’s school.
Address (line 1) Line 1 of the examinee’s address.
Address (line 2) Line 2 of the examinee’s address.
Teacher’s name The name of the examinee’s teacher.
Handedness The examinee’s handedness.
Comments This field allows the examiner to enter comments regarding the Assessment or the Examinee. These comments are displayed in the report.

Behavioral Observations

Field Name

Response time Observation of the examinee’s response time throughout the test session
Need for repetitions of stimuli Observation of the examinee’s need for repetitions of stimuli throughout the test session
Attention during test taking Observation of the examinee’s attention throughout the test session
Attitude toward test taking Observation of the examinee’s attitude toward testing throughout the test session
Social language: register and quantity Observation of the examinee’s social language: register and quantity throughout the test session

 

Subtests Tab

The Subtests tab includes tests from the Record Forms and the Reading and Writing Supplements. Raw scores or item scores can be entered for each subtest.

Entry Components:

  •  500 word summary

Fill in information for up to three raters using provided Rater 1, Rater 2, and Rater 3 panels.

Entry Components:

  • Select Rater (up to 3 Raters)

  • Language spoken

  • Items (0 to 40)

  • Choose five to ten problems that concern you the most

  • Other problems or concerns

 

Command Buttons

When you click the Proceed to Reports or Save updates button the assessment is saved and the system checks to ensure all the required data has been entered. If any required data is missing, the record will be saved and a message will be displayed at the top of the screen describing the condition(s) that must be resolved before a report can be generated for the record.
