The BMAT™ is an individually administered, standardized test of gross and fine motor skills for adults ages 40 and older. It is an adult adaptation of the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, Second Edition (BOT–2; Bruininks & Bruininks, 2005), which is widely used with individuals ages 4–21. The BMAT is designed to help professionals in occupational and physical therapies, nursing, human
performance, physical rehabilitation, and related disciplines. It assesses an adult’s motor abilities related to improvement in physical functioning and/or requirements for activities of daily living (ADLs), and it can help to guide treatment, set treatment goals,
and monitor progress toward those goals.
The 32 BMAT test items consist of a combination of motor tasks taken directly from the BOT–2, tasks adapted from the BOT–2, and newly developed tasks. All items were

Scores can be entered using the Item Raw Score (IRS) or the Total Point Score (TPS).
NOTE: Values in parentheses represent raw score ranges. For activities that accept a raw score range from 1.0 to 999.9, scores can be entered in intervals of 0.1. The lowest acceptable item raw score is 1.0.
